It's a Winter Wonderland at the North Pole!
|
The Polar Express Event of New England®, a magical journey to the North Pole. This truly unique adventure departs each December from two locations in the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire. .
This experience includes a wonderful evening train ride, a bunch of elves, and of course, Santa himself! This adventure is our rendition of the children's book, The Polar Express©, written by Chris Van Allsburg and published by the Houghton Mifflin Company.
The Polar Express Event of New England® departs each December and heads to the North Pole from the center of North Conway Village, as well as from downtown Lincoln, both in the north country of New Hampshire.
The train is full of children and adults, dressed in their pajamas, about to live the experience of the little boy in The Polar Express©, written by Chris Van Allsburg and published by the Houghton Mifflin Company.
The story focuses on a little boy who has been told by his friends that there is no Santa Claus. Unwilling to believe this, he lies awake in his bed on Christmas Eve, waiting for the sound of Santa's sleigh. Instead, he hears the hissing steam and squeaking metal of the Polar Express as it stops outside his window, ready to take him and other children to the North Pole.
The Polar Express Event of New England® is one of the major fundraisers for the "Believe in Books" Literacy Foundation. This event is greatly enhanced and brought to life with the collective efforts of many volunteers, all dressed in appropriate outfits, along with an extremely dedicated staff. Together they all help our guests to truly believe. |
Net proceeds from the Polar Express Event of New England® fund Literacy Programs, such as our Books in Character Outreach program, the Believe in Books Bookbag Program, and our Books from Birth program in Northern New Hampshire and Western Maine.
